At this time, HVAC systems using R-410A can no longer be manufactured or sold after 2026. All new HVAC systems will require a more environmentally friendly option, A2L. In 2010, systems using R-22 were no longer produced and the refrigerant stopped being produced or imported in 2020. Lack of supply has caused the R-22 to continue to rise in cost.
